Yellowwoods is fortunate to have three Student Teachers from the U.S. who are all seniors at Minnesota State University Moorhead teach in the Junior Primary this term. A warm and sincere welcome to Jess Lynn Johnson, Julia Barrott and Laura Sparks. All three ladies are excited to get to know the children at Yellowwoods and soak up some South African culture.
Hello! My name is Jesslynn Johnson. I am a student, hoping to become a teacher, from Minnesota in America. I am so excited to spend the next three months here at Yellowwoods to meet all the students and experience a bit of the South African culture. I come from a small, yet close family of five. I have one younger sister and one younger brother. I love to experience new things, taking photos, and enjoying the outdoors. I am excited to meet all the students and possibly you throughout these next three months.
Hello Yellowwoods Preparatory School! My name is Julia Barrott. I am from Savage, Minnesota which is in the United States of America. I have the privilege of student teaching in the grade 1 classroom with Mrs. Jessica Bouwer. During my stay, I will also be living in the hostel at Yellowwoods. Science is my favourite subject. I love nature and to be outside! My family is also extremely important to me, but I know already that I will be welcomed into the “family” here at Yellowwoods. I look forward to getting to know all of you and the students better!
Hello! My name is Laura Sparks. I am from Mankato, MN of the U.S.A. I am a senior at Minnesota State University Moorhead. I am so thankful to be at Yellowwoods and to work with all the wonderful children. I will be in the grade 3 classroom with Mrs. Ballantyne. My favourite things to do include horse back riding, sewing, and painting. I come from a very large family, which is very important to me, and my favourite colour is green!
